Privacy policy
Last updated: August 23, 2026
The short version: no data leaves your device. Our apps and this website collect no personal data — no accounts, no analytics, no ads, no trackers, nothing sold or shared. The rest of this page just says that more carefully.
Who this policy covers
This policy covers the bitsize.me website and every app published by Mikael Cedergren, an independent developer based in Sweden — including all apps distributed through Apple's App Store. One policy, everything we make. For readers who like the formal terms: under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the data controller is Mikael Cedergren, reachable at the address at the bottom of this page.
Our apps
Our apps are built to run entirely on your device.
- We collect nothing. No personal data, no usage analytics, no crash-reporting SDKs, no advertising identifiers, no fingerprinting. This is why our apps carry Apple's “Data Not Collected” privacy label.
- There are no accounts. Nothing to sign up for, so we have no way of knowing who you are.
- Your content stays yours. Anything you create or store in an app lives on your device, and in your own device backups (such as iCloud Backup) governed by Apple's terms — we never see it.
- Purchases are Apple's department. If an app is paid or offers in-app purchases, Apple processes the entire transaction. We receive anonymous, aggregated sales statistics — never your name, payment details, or anything else that identifies you.
- App Store telemetry is opt-in and Apple's. If you have chosen to share analytics with developers in your device settings, Apple shows us anonymized, aggregated statistics. That choice — like everything about downloading apps — is governed by Apple's privacy policy, not ours.
This website
Every tool on bitsize.me runs in your browser.
- Whatever you type, paste, or upload is processed on your machine and never sent to us — passwords generated, CSVs converted, QR codes rendered, all of it.
- No analytics, no cookies, no tracking pixels, and no third-party scripts, fonts, or CDNs. The site is entirely self-contained.
- Like nearly every web server, the machine that serves this site may keep short-lived technical logs (IP address, requested URL, browser type) so it can operate securely. They are used only to keep the site running, are routinely discarded, and are never used to identify or profile anyone — and never shared.
Third parties
We don't sell, rent, share, or trade data with anyone — no advertisers, no data brokers, no “partners”. We couldn't if we wanted to: we don't have any.
Children
Because nothing is collected from anyone, nothing is collected from children either. Our apps and website are safe in the most literal sense.
Your rights
Privacy laws such as the GDPR and the California Consumer Privacy Act give you the right to access, correct, export, and delete personal data. Since we hold none, there is nothing to hand over or erase — but if you believe otherwise, or have any question at all, email us and a human will answer. You also always have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority; ours is Sweden's IMY (Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten).
Changes to this policy
If a future app ever needs to collect something (say, an opt-in crash reporter), this policy will be updated before that app ships, and the date at the top will change with it. The current version always lives at bitsize.me/privacy-policy.
